Race Day
Share
A few weeks ago, I was standing in Dollywood when a guy walked by in a shirt that said something like “Picture Day.”
It got me thinking about the days that matter.
A day at Dollywood? Always a good one.
But my mind went somewhere else…
A certain morning in Hopkinton.
The start line of a Cross Country National Championship.
Running the 10K on the track at Emory University.
Standing at the start of the Gulf Shores Triathlon last fall—with a borrowed bike.
And every starting line in between.
I realized something.
I couldn’t tell you much about an entire year of first grade…
…but I can remember every starting line I’ve ever toed.
That’s what sticks.
That’s what matters.
And that’s where this shirt came from.
Race Day.
It’s for me.
It’s for you.
It’s for everyone who shows up, toes the line, and chooses to find out what they’re capable of.
Because some days just stay with you.
And this is one of them.
Let’s get ready. It’s Race Day.
